RGBSI Employee Honored by ESGR

Sourab Hegde accepted an award honoring RGBSI and his work supporting an RGBSI contract employee service member.

The Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) has honored RGBSI employee Sourab Hegde, Engineering Staffing Leader, with the Service Member Patriot Award. The award is presented to individuals who provided support directly to the nominating service member or his/her family. According to the ESGR website, the award "reflects the efforts made to support Citizen Warriors through a wide-range of measures."

Hegde was nominated by a contract employee who he helped return to the same position after her ESGR training. The employee stated, “When I returned from training, the company I had been working for tried to deny my re-employment. Mr. Hegde and RGBSI began negotiating with my former employer immediately, and began submitting my resume for similar positions as well. Thanks to Mr Hegde’s hard work, I was able to return to my former position with a salary increase.”

The award was presented to Hegde by Mike Francis, Ombudsman of Michigan on March 13, 2014. Hegde's award was accompanied by a Statement of Support for the Guard and Reserve for RGBSI. RGBSI is proud to support service men and women in roles throughout our organization.

The ESGR was established to promote cooperation and understanding between Reserve Component Service members and their civilian employers. Supported by a network for nearly 5,000 volunteers, the organization promotes employer support for those in military service in the Guard and Reserve.
